Mixed media fun ... yes please!

NEWS ALERT .... NEWS ALERT ... NEWS ALERT

Tonic Studios first appearance on Hochanda will be tonight at 8pm
launching the brand new ... can't say as don't want to spoil the fun ....
so you'll just have to tune in and see for yourselves 😁😜😉

All I can say is there are oodles and oodles of fabulous NEW products waiting to be shared with all us crafters over the next week. Tonic Studios will also be making sure that all shows are also aired on their Facebook page, for those who can not get Hochanda TV.

As I said a few posts back, I haven't had much time to craft, craft but I have been making up for it BIG TIME! I decided to get out lots of different Tonic Studio products and have a play. Wanted to show how versatile they can be and also how you can do "messy crafting" with them too.

Well here's what morphed itself together ...

I began by embossing the flowers with white embossing powder and colouring around them with my Aquaflow pens. I then stamped on top of the embossed flowers with red ink and for even more depth, stamped again (with gilding glue), adding silver & gold gilding flakes. Doesn't show in the photo very clearly but the flowers have so much depth and texture.

Next I stamped the sentiment (strip stamp) in grey and then began to play with my dragonfly. Firstly, using gilding glue, I stamped the outline, (which I created by making a stamp of the die cut with funky foam) and filled this with silver gilding flakes. The dragonfly body was stamped on to textured card (again with gilding glue) and both gold and silver flakes added. Doesn't it look so regal...

Next I stamped the same sentiment on to vellum and gilded it too ... as you do ...  😁 I have torn down the edges and attached the vellum at the back of the topper.

Finaly using a gilding sponge, I added gilding glue around the edges and used up the gilding "bits" I had left over. I wanted to use the small bits, rather then throw them away, plus I also thought it would tie everything together.

I really enjoyed my "play" and it was great to use all these products together; at the same time, showing they can be used in different ways. What surprise have you discovered about a crafty product that you weren't expecting ... do share.
